Ragwort Warning

Landowners and occupiers are being asked by Environmental Protection to take action to control Ragwort which is spreading rapidly due to recent favourable growing conditions.  Control of Ragwort is a legal responsibility of the occupier and if necessary, Notices can be served and regulatory action taken to prevent its spreading.

Deputy Anne Pryke, Assistant Minister of Planning and Environment says:

“As in previous years we would advise that preventing the spread of this injurious weed is important for the wellbeing of the Island’s grazing animals, and landowners and occupiers should take all measures to assist in its control.”
